Summer On The Treasure Coast | Stuart Fishing Report
Jensen Beach Park - St. Lucie, FL
Air and water temperatures are on the rise with more afternoon showers as we head into the summer. Water quality has been great with no water releases from Lake Okeechobee the past few months. This time of year I strongly suggest morning trip not only to beat the heat but also avoid afternoon storms which is definitely a possibility in the summer. Still catching some nice tripletail on the Indian River with jacks, and snappers bending those rods. Livebaiting south near the inlet and area bridges, snook, jacks, tarpon, Goliath grouper and cubera snapper will be around. With flat seas in the summer, nearshore fishing on the ocean is available for groups up to 3 people. These trips require calm seas up to 2ft and also available for 3/4 and full day trips only with either a 6 or 7 am departures. On these trips we target kingfish, sailfish, Mahi, barracuda and Bonita. We have already landed several sailfish already this summer which are a blast on lighter tackle.
