Summer Pattern

Report Date: May 4, 2016

Summer is right around the corner with temps reaching upper 80's this week. Shallow water anglers want to get out early if you want to work those grass flats. Most winter-spring species like pompano, spanish mackerel and bluefish have left but always possible to find a few resident fish.

Caught a few nice tripletail to 15.4 lbs. the past few weeks but flounder has been on the slow side north of the Jensen Causeway. This is the time of year I like to start mixing it up with live greenies and pilchards for snook, jacks, tarpon and more. Bridges continue to hold black drum to 8 lbs., croaker to 4lbs with a few snook, snapper and flounder.
