Bonefish Surprise in Stuart

Report Date: April 28, 2014

We have been seeing a huge increase in the bonefish population on our Stuart fishing charters. Two areas to find them are in the crossroads and sailfish flats. We actually broke a record the other day catching 6 on a half day charter. Bouncing live shrimp, Joe’s jigging spoons and DOA root beer shrimp have been working well.

Also in the inlet area, look for snook and large jacks eating live greenies and pilchards. Sheepshead, ladyfish, permit and black drum are also spread out. The pompano bite remains slow inshore but still seeing a few Spanish mackerel in Hells Gate.

North of the Jensen Causeway fishing structures we have seen lane and mutton snappers, sheepshead, black drum, and tripletail. The flounder bite should pick up shortly.
